[HDR-photo] Workflow questions

Thanks Terry, and all who answered back. I will recheck my pictures with foliage. I will retest all of them again (converters).
I did some testing also with the K20D, recording PEF vs DNG, it looks like the processing of DNG is showing less micro details, like a tree bark.
I did the same with butterflies it seems less refined, it could be me but at 100% and 150% there is detail loss and contrast also. Since I shoot a lots of birds and wildlife, it appears that also the fur and the feathers suffers when blowing up or cropping.
I will retest this again also. I'm not out of the woods yet.
Merci et Bonne Journée

I've been finding, at least with my K20D, that LR2/ACR produces a
distinct pattern, particularly in foliage, not unlike JPEG compression
viewable at about 200-300% magnification. The Pentax-supplied raw
convertor and the DxO Labs raw convertor produced a better result in
my testing.
Have I switched? Nope. I'm holding out that LR3 will improve their raw
conversion as this is on the list of improvements (I've downloaded the
public beta but haven't had a chance to test it yet). For me, the
workflow of LR is more important than the apparent shortcomings of
it's raw conversion.
