[HDR-photo] (no subject)

I thought I understood the EV and amount of shots one needs.
I just purchased the Pentax 10kd
In my setup custom section I can either set up 3 or 5 shots
But in the EV spacing section I have two choices
1/2 or 1/3

Am I missing something?
