Hi Nick and everyone else,

Thank you for ordering the book, and I apologize for the delay. At
this moment, the book should be in packaging stage, and we're just
waiting for the shipment from Canada. It should be arriving October
26 and then go into delivery to Amazon and bookstores the next
Monday. So, October 29 is the official release date. That's what my
publisher tells me.
I've put up a release countdown on www.hdrlabs.com.

As far as I know, this is the first book on basic HDRI.
There is a pretty good ebook by Jack Howard "HDR: An Introduction to
High Dynamic Range Photography" available here: http://
www.oreilly.com/catalog/9780596510176/ It concentrates on the
practical aspects of an HDRI/tonemapping workflow.
And for the advanced HDRI user there is the classic "High Dynamic
Range Imaging" by Reinhard and the other founding fathers.
(www.hdrbook.com). From a technical aspect, this book is insanely
comprehensive and detailed. It focuses on the algorithms behind, and
dismisses real world workflows. I do recommend it as a second read,
for when you want to dig deeper into the subject.

Best regards,
Christian Bloch
