CA is not only worse because of the fashion for high-range zooms instead of primes, but local operators will always enhance it in an HDR image, especially in highlights where color saturation tends towards excess.

As far as I know, the only image editing software that corrects it adequately (Photoshop Raw converter and Lens Correction just shift the channels) is DxO Optics. They test lens-camera combinations and provide modules. These correct CA and other aberrations precisely across the field. 

If anyone knows of similar software, I'm keen to compare.
