[HDR-photo] jpeg exposure adjustment

Otto,

I wonder why you want to create an HDR this way? Regarding HDRI it will 
not make sense to do this with JPG files. You won't gain additional 
luminance information by "pushing" the JPG. It's better to shoot real 
exposure brackets. But I guess you want to do this in order to apply 
Tone Mapping, right?

Anyway, though I do not recommend it and I don't know if you will like 
what you get, within Photomatix Pro you are able to apply the Tone 
Mapping to 16-Bit images. Just convert your JPG to 16-Bit TIF and open 
it in Photomatix Pro, then apply Tone Mapping.
